Property of Carbon Compounds- Bond Strength

Bond Strength of Carbon Compounds

Bond Strength :- A bond strength describes how strongly each atom is joined to another atom, and therefore how much energy is required to break the bond between the two atoms.

As the size of the carbon atom is small, it makes strong bonds with other atoms to produce stable compounds. This further increases the number of carbon compounds.

Q . Why are carbon - carbon bonds so strong?

Carbon - Carbon bonds are strong due to small atomic size the nucleus is able to hold the shared pairs of electrons strongly hence making strong bond.
